#18: Happy Birthday, President Carter!

Dibattito presidenziale? No, grazie!

Come è andata? Male. Molto male.

Buon Compleanno, Presidente Carter!»

  3. I have been following President Jimmy Carter since I helped my granddad campaign for him in 1976 when I was 7! I am so thrilled that he is still with us and younger generations are experiencing and appreciating this great and GOOD man. We would be a much better world if we could all be more like Jimmy. God bless he and Mrs Carter. Thank you for this inspiring post.

  4. Thanks for reminding us of who we really are. So often maligned, this speech by President Carter ought to be placed next to Lincoln’s “Better Angles” speech. Our societies degeneration didn’t happen over night, but was a slow but steady rending of our social fabric. President Carter sensed this and tried mightily to first shine the light of truth on the forces arrayed against us, and then suggested means to steer the ship toward better moorings. So much more of the truth of this hinge moment in our history will be revealed as historians sift the evidence. President Carter knew of our disease, and tried to help. Place his analysis next to Pope Francis’ new encyclical, Fratelli Tutti. Two men of faith with a common vision of and for the world.
